· Los Reyes inauguran la 35 edición de ARCOmadrid
Para su 35 cumpleaños Arco regresa al formato tradicional, una feria de galerías, un Arco modelo 1985. Sean galerías o países invitados, la crisis de identidad de la feria, colocada en las fechas menos propicias para disfrutar de la ciudad y rodeada de competidoras mejor situadas, sigue sin novedad, sigue proclamando el mismo "exito" oficial de todos los años. Mientras tanto, Madrid celebra su semana del arte salpicada de propuestas alternativas que despiertan el interés de un público entusiata que, a diferencia del negocio, es el que nunca falla.

El pabellón ruso expone por primera vez el trabajo de una mujer, Irina Nakhova (Moscú, 1955) que vive y trabaja entre Rusia y Estados Unidos. Otras dos mujeres completan el equipo, Stella Kesaeva, presidenta de la Stella Art Foundation, promotora del arte ruso contemporáneo, y la comisaria independiente Margarita Masterkova, experta reconocida en las Vanguardias rusas. “El Pabellón verde” es un homenaje al edificio construido en 1913 por el arquitecto Aleksey Schusev pero repleto ahora de señales nuevas sobre los viejos mensajes.

El CAC será discutible. Y caro. Pero justifica, con creces, su particular posición dentro de la superoferta museística de la ciudad de Málaga. En esta ocasión nos llegan, de la mano de su director y gerente Fernando Francés, dos visiones del mundo de dos artistas emigrados a Francia, el país que les ha descubierto y consagrado. Cada uno en su propio idioma, el chino Yan Pei-Ming y el argelino Adel Abdessemed dan cuenta de lo mismo: política, religión y violencia, historias de hoy y de siempre.
Y, para suavizar la intensidad de la dosis, Neighbours II, una colectiva que reúne 26 "artistas de proximidad".

La "Economía de la Experiencia" mantiene que las empresas deben propiciar acontecimientos memorables ya que, el recuerdo de ese hecho, es el producto en si. La industria avanzada de la experiencia afirma su derecho a obtener beneficios por el valor de transformación que la experiencia produce.
En este caso, por 14.7 € la entrada, el Luisiana Museum dedica gran parte de su espacio a la última instalación de Olafur Eliasson, una propuesta que suscita polémica y controversia: frente al entusiasmo mediático las críticas de los profesionales señalan al director, Poul Erik Tøjner, al que acusan de convertir el museo en un supermercado del arte, uno más, y reclaman el papel que éste elude y debería cumplir.

La periodista Isabel Mendoza narra, en primera persona, el caos tremendo que padeció para acceder a la exposición -gritos, empujones y hora y media de espera- a pesar de contar con las entradas y reserva previa de hora. "No vayan a ver al Greco en sábado", es su airada recomendación.

CRÍTICA. Un puñado de los consagrados, otro de los ya establecidos, y otros 60 artistas llegados de los cinco continentes forman la coral que resuena desde Lyon. Es la única bienal europea dedicada al arte contemporáneo que ha conseguido llegar sana y en forma a su 12ª edición.
No es fácil seleccionar y presentar el arte que se hace ahora mismo sin caer en la banalidad de lo efímero o lo ocurrente, o en el puro narcisismo intelectual. Se justifica mejor aquí, y se agradece, cuando se cuenta con un “argumento” comprensible para todos los públicos, sin necesidad de humillar su inteligencia.
No puede sorprender que toda la ciudad, Lyon entera, se entregue a participar y a celebrarlo.

· Mínima resistencia . Entre el tardomodernismo y la globalización: prácticas artísticas durante las décadas de los 80 y 90.

CRÍTICA. Tardomodernismo, globalización, postmedia, transversalidad. Como si no se pudiera ver una obra de arte sin una "pluralidad de relatos" que lo acompañen, asistimos al triunfo de la retórica, el apogeo de la palabra pintada, una defensa de la incoherencia como único argumento de autoridad posible. Aquí conviven una instalación de vídeo de cinco canales, un fanzine, una raíz de caucho, un óleo sobre tela, un cartel...
Son obras "abiertas" que debe completar e interpretar el espectador mientras los gestores culturales del museo se afanan en ofrecer la mínima resistencia. ¿A qué? Al final, ya verás, se entiende todo.

El IVAM cerró su balance del año 2011 (el de 2012 no se ha publicado) con un déficit de ocho millones de euros y una reducción por venta de entradas y exposiciones del 36%.
Descabalgada de la vicepresidencia y relegada a ocupar una vocalía en el nuevo consejo rector, los días de Consuelo Císcar como Directora y Gerente del museo parecen estar contados. Su círculo familiar, su red de favores mutuos, sus apoyos políticos y mediáticos, todavía la mantienen a cubierto. Pero llegan las horas mas bajas para Consuelo Císcar y su marido, Rafael Blasco, recientemente expulsado del PP.

En 1978 y tras las actuaciones de la Fiscalía General del Estado se estima en 590 el número de obras desaparecidas del Museo del Prado. En 1980 esa cantidad había ascendido a 1.046 pinturas además de otras 379 pendientes de localización. En 2010, un informe fiscalizador fija en 926 el número de cuadros perdidos pero el Tribunal de Cuentas archiva todos los procedimientos " por inexistencia de responsabilidad”.
Sigue el goteo de cuadros localizados en las casas de subastas o en depósitos sin documentar. Pero lo que no aparece es la lista completa de cuáles, dónde, quiénes.

Primera parte. Las goteras. El ex-ministro José Pedro Pérez Llorca, presidente del Patronato, del Museo del Prado, y el director del museo, Miguel Zugaza, deciden ocultar al público la filtración de agua que el pasado marzo afectó al almacén del nuevo edificio proyectado por Moneo. Hasta un mes tardó Zugaza en convocar una rueda de prensa para restar importancia al daño sufrido por las pinturas y señalar, a falta del informe técnico, a la empresa constructora como posible responsable.
Segunda parte. Un incendio. El 3 de febrero de 1731 comienza a arder en Amberes el castillo medieval de Coudenberg. La Gobernadora general, María Isabel de Austria, hermana del emperador Carlos V, olvida dar la orden de apagar las velas y el incendio destruye la mitad del palacio y las obras de arte que albergaba. El informe que se elaboró a continuación situó el origen en las cocinas y culpó al servicio por negligencia.
Últimas Noticias. El informe de actuaciones posterior al suceso recomienda medidas de "comprobación, revisión, protección y control". De responsables, por supuesto, ni se habla. De dimisiones, tampoco. La buena costumbre de marcharse -en 1991 Alfonso Pérez Sánchez, en 1993 Felipe Garín, y en 1994 Francisco Calvo Serraller- ya no se practica.

Parece una foto. Pero no lo es. Parece un museo. Pero son dos. Parece de propiedad pública, pero es de gestión privada. Alberga la colección Carmen Thyssen, un préstamo que parece gratuito, pero no lo es. Según el contrato firmado en 1999 por Mariano Rajoy con las sociedades de la "baronesa" radicadas en paraísos fiscales, en el ejercicio 2011 se traspasan 8.851.653 € en concepto de amortización del valor del derecho de uso de la Colección Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza.

CRÍTICA. Agnes Varda ha pasado de las salas de cine a los museos. La primera mujer directora de cine de la Nouvelle Vague expone desde hace diez años en salas de todo el mundo. Hans Ulrich Obrist, uno de los comisarios más activos, fue el primero en llamarla para la Bienal de Venecia de 2003.
Ella confiesa ser la misma aunque ahora el público se comporte de modo diferente, puede moverse, puede hacer un recorrido, un recorrido físico pero también mental y emocional. Varda reconoce que su primer amor fue la pintura, no el cine.
A sus 84 años, sigue en estado puro: 'Con la edad se va cayendo todo, pero no la curiosidad.'

INFORME. China se convirtió el año pasado en el mayor mercado mundial del arte, superando por primera vez a los Estados Unidos.
Sin embargo, las cifras (42% del mercado mundial, 9.800 millones de euros) han sido puestas en entredicho por los indicios de fraude en el mercado del arte chino y las prácticas opacas de Poly Auctions, la casa de subastas propiedad del Ejército de Liberación Popular que forma parte de una amplia organización que también fabrica armas.

CRÍTICA. “Su dibujo era único. La seguridad de su mano era casi infalible. Cuando dibujaba solía sentarse en una banqueta baja, el tablero de dibujo con las hojas sobre las rodillas apoyando la mano.... Y todo era correcto...".
Dibujos, de los que podemos ver un centenar procedentes de los fondos del Albertina Museum de Viena, dibujos a lápiz, acuarelas, guaches, aguadas, tizas, obras acabadas en sí mismas que realizó en poco más de diez años.

"Ver o no ver", fotografías de Outumuro . Casa América. Hasta el 10 de noviembre
FOTOGRAFÍA. Manuel Outumuro es famoso por su excepcional trabajo como fotógrafo de moda. Acaba de clausurar "Mirar y pensar Balenciaga" en el Museo del traje, y ya inaugura otra exposición, quizá más importante porque es desinteresada. En "Ver o no ver" Outumuro ha conseguido reunir 50 personajes de la cultura española y hacerles posar con un ojo tapado. Todos han colaborado de forma altruista para dar a conocer la labor de la Fundación Ojos del Mundo, que trata las cegueras evitables en Sahara, Mozambique, Bolivia y Mali.

Un museo ejemplar, el CAPC -centre d’arts plastiques contemporains- de Burdeos, programa durante el verano una retrospectiva de Michel Majerus (*1967 †2002), uno de los grandes agitadores del arte de los noventa. Apenas conocido en España -una instalación en la BIACS de 2004-, en Francia, sin embargo, esta muestra es declarada de Interés Nacional por el Ministerio de Cultura.

CRÍTICA. Hockney ha vuelto a la tierra de sus orígenes para filmar, fotografiar, digitalizar y pintar sus paisajes. DISEÑO. Un nombre sin raíces para rebautizar una destartalada unión de cajas de ahorro. Una marca cara y paleta, una marca vulgar de colores repugnantes, marrón caca y verde tóxico, con espinas y pinchos en las letras, que representa un agujero de ¿4? ¿7? ¿16? ¿23.000 millones?.
